What is Live Below the Line?

AFCA Children in the garden

Live Below the Line is a global fundraiser through the Global Poverty Project. It's a challenging and meaningful experience that’s about more than hunger: it’s about the lack of choice and opportunity faced by people living in extreme poverty around the world, including the children AFCA serves, who are infected and/or affected by AIDS.

From April 27 – May 1, 2015, participants will spend only $1.50 (the equivalent of the extreme poverty line) per day on food and drink for 5 days in order to help those who face hunger and to empathize with those who lack food.

WHAT CAN YOU DO?

You can do one of various things to participate in LBL to benefit our kids:

- Eat and drink on no more than $1.50 per day for 1-5 days. Saved money gets donated to AFCA through your fundraising page

-  Ask people to pledge towards your efforts to eat and drink on no more than $1.50 per day for 1-5 days through your fundraising page

-  Host an LBL party where you serve a meal that costs no more than the allowance per person. Let them know the reason you are participating in LBL and ask them to support your efforts to feed others

-  Simply write a check to AFCA or donate online and don’t change your eating habits
