ABOUT THE CAMPAIGN
Welcome to our community garden in Miwani, Kenya, which provides food and income for community members in need.
The Miwani Garden Project provides work for 22 HIV+ women 3 days a week, allowing them to balance family and health needs. 13 women work the garden and 9 sell produce in the market.
Approximately 130 children and older people eat, go to school, and have medical care due to the work of these women.
13 children at a local orphanage, as well as 2 staff, are also provided meals from the garden and rice paddy, and approximately 10 additional vulnerable members of the community receive food.
Our goal is to raise the funds to add 10 more beds to the garden project this year, bringing it to 43 total beds and to expand the rice paddy.
