PassMyPlate

#PassMyPlate is a challenge that brings awareness to the hunger epidemic in Africa and the extreme poverty line, which is defined as living on $1.90 or less a day by the World Bank.

How it works:

• Select a day or week during October and November when you commit to take on the challenge.
• During the selected dates, you may only spend $1.90 for all the food and drinks you consume per day.
• Calculate what you normally spend on food during a day or week and donate anything over the alloted $1.90 per day.
•  If you’d like to, you can raise funds by creating or joining a team or by creating your individual fundraising page.
• Share your experience with others on social media, encouraging followers to participate. Blog, write, share photos and recipes, etc!
• If you are unable to take the challenge, you can simply make a donation!

30000 Miles

APRIL 15, 2026 – MAY 31, 2026

The 2026 Walk through Africa, will be starting in Capetown, South Africa and ending in El-Ayoun, Western Sahara.

Registration will be open from April 1, 2026 .

#30000Miles is a virtual walk/run/ride through Africa. The goal is for participants to walk a collective 30,090 miles, either by simply going about their daily routine or by actively walking/running/cycling to help AFCA reach its goal. Steps/miles are tracked by Fitbit, Garmin, Apple Watch/Health kit, Google Fit, Strava, or  Misfit, an app provided at registration. If participants want to, they can fundraise beyond the $25 registration fee, but there is no requirement to do so.
