Climb Up: Kilimanjaro pairs the adventure of climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania with the charitable purpose of helping children with HIV/AIDS, offering participants a life-impacting experience.
Each year, AFCA organizes teams with 4 to 14 members to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro. Summit Expeditions and Nomadic Experience (SENE), the expedition company which partners with AFCA on this adventure, leads the climbers on a seven day adventure to the “Roof of Africa.” Hikers experience a journey that takes them through five climate zones and up to an elevation of 19,341 feet. The experience is life-changing, the views are breath-taking, and the memories are priceless.
Each climber raises $8,000 with approximately $5,500 going directly to AFCA’s programs. With medicine costing roughly $1 per day for one child and a full-grown laying hen costing $10, each climber makes a huge impact providing medical, sustainable and lasting changes to a child affected and/or infected by AIDS.
