Awareness, empathy, and fighting back against the HIV/AIDS pandemic in Africa is why students, parents, teachers, and friends of American International School of Abuja (AISA) come out to the come out to the AISA track to run and walk for three hours. Symbolizing the struggle children with HIV and AIDS live with every day, participants challenged themselves to run and walk as many laps as possible in three hours. For every lap completed participants raise money that will be sent to the AFCA’s children where it will be used for purchasing food, medicine, and livestock for kids that are affected by AIDS in Sub-Saharan Africa. In 2016, they raised almost 3 times the amount of Naira collected from last year’s event! Hooray for everyone that made this possible!

This year AISA made donation level clubs. This was originated to recognize students who secured sponsors to increase the total amount of money raised. Exercise is important, but their main goal is to help others by raising money. Congratulations to all those who won the different awards for their fundraising achievements! Every Naira helps us help even more children.

93% of funds raised for AFCA are used directly to benefit children, guardians, and soon-to-be mothers affected by HIV in Kenya, Uganda, Zimbabwe, and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

In the five years of this wonderful partnership, AISA has raised over $19,000 for our kids.

AFCA couldn’t be prouder to partner with AISA. Thank you for all you do!
