30,000 MILES

#30000Miles is a virtual walk/run through Africa. The goal is for participants to walk a collective 30,090 miles, either by simply going about their daily routine or by actively walking/running to help AFCA reach its goal. Steps/miles are tracked by Fitbit, Garmin or a free app provided at registration. If participants want to, they can fundraise beyond the $25 registration fee, but there is no requirement to do so. Of course, there will be a nice gift for those who decide to fundraise and who reach a specific goal.

The walk/run begins on September 1, and ends on October 31, 2019 or whenever the collective goal of 30,000 miles is reached, whichever is first.

#30000Miles allows walkers and runners to provide critical aid to children without changing their daily routine – any number of steps taken in a day will help us reach the capitals of all countries in mainland Africa, without having to travel!

Anyone can help, wherever they live.

Every step helps.

PASS MY PLATE

PassMyPlate is an educational challenge promoting awareness of how extreme poverty, defined by the World Bank at $1.90 or less a day, has resulted in a hunger epidemic affecting millions around the world.

Funds raised by this challenge will help us build sustainable food solutions for children living in Sub-Sahara Africa who are infected or affected by HIV/AIDS. The project is a way to help these children and their guardians break a cycle of poverty and achieve health and self-sufficiency.

Providing food and hope to children is not the only benefit of PassMyPlate. The project enhances participants’ understanding of global issues.

  • PassMyPlate addresses important causes—global health, global hunger, and global poverty—while promoting an important value—sustainability

  • We provide recipes and suggested menus to make your planning easier

  • You can participate for 1 day or for 1 week during the period November 1-27, 2019

  • Invite friends and do this as a team!  Funds last longer this way.

  • Goal: $35,000 to help 360 families
