Kathryn K. (Kit) Goldfarb, President, KG Communications

Kit has more than 25 years experience helping organizations meet their goals through the effective use of communications, marketing, and fundraising. Kit brings a combination of entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to excellence to all her efforts, working as a virtual extension of her clients’ organizations. Her services range from online communications programs and marketing strategies to operational and administrative support. Her successes include providing counsel to multinational companies including GE, MCI (now Verizon), AMS and Alcatel to dozens of start-ups and non-profits as well as founding and growing her own company.

 

In 1999, Kit founded KG Communications, which quickly grew to a full-service PR and communications consultancy that launched some of the most innovative and successful start-ups in telecommunications and other technology areas.

 

Today, Kit is leveraging her experience and expertise to use communications and technology to help not-for-profit and for-profit organizations in the area of international development. She currently serves as a consultant to the American Foundation for Children with AIDS and Investors without Borders.

 

Valarie (Val) Tomey, Managing Partner, Pondera Vita Partners

Val has over 28 years of experience as a business executive in commercial real estate management, providing services to major corporate and institutional clients and investors. She has a comprehensive background in financial management, as well as significant experience in the leadership of large and diverse staffs. Her demonstrated skills in strategy development and process management have resulted in the successful implementation of numerous complicated and challenging projects. She has also been recognized for development and implementation of metrics-based and results-focused performance evaluation programs that have helped ensure quality results.

 

For the past several years, Val has applied her organizational and analytical skills to the humanitarian world by recruiting, preparing and leading volunteer teams around the globe. She is currently a highly-regarded team leader for Habitat for Humanity International. She also serves as an advisor and team leader to American Foundation for Children with AIDS.

 

Michael Leming, Chief Talent Scout, Nike

Michael started working with Nike back in 1985. He and his team (Nike SWAT) are responsible for the Global Talent Acquisition throughout the Brand and its affiliates including Umbro, Cole Haan, Converse and Hurley and focus on the acquisition of the top 1% of the senior leadership. The mission of SWAT is simple: Seek, Sign and Serve the very best executive talent on the planet.

 

Michael is a Portland native who grew up with the Swoosh and went to the University of Oregon but has lived and worked throughout the U.S., Europe and Asia. Outside of Nike, Michael is passionate about the outdoors and enjoys Mountain Climbing, Skydiving, BASE Jumping and spending time with his family.
