Every woman should have a decent, clean place in which to birth her baby, whether she is HIV+ or not. This year, we will build such a place in Mombasa, Kenya, in a slum called Mikindani.

The goal is $150,000. This includes building the maternity ward, as well as furnishing the clinic with equipment and supplies so that mamas and babies are safe and well cared for during the pregnancy, labor, birth, and after-care.

We’re not far of our goal now, but we are still raising money for the last container and supplies that we want to send.

The hospital has seen 7100 people from August until December in 2021 and 171 babies have been born there and received layette kits from AFCA.

Help us on this final stretch and let’s make this dream come true!

Like bees in a beehive, we each have an important role to play in the lives of each other, whether near or far.

Mercy Hospital is named in honor of Mercy and Enrique Abadia, late parents of AFCA’s Executive Director, who loved children and babies, dedicating their lives to care for the orphaned and the needy.
